New DBA Course Launched
18 September 2018
Edgar C. Britschgi, MIM’s long-term visit professor, and a friend delivered his new course on consulting to DBA class. For two days the class discussed myths and reality of consulting business. “Consulting is about solutions. Professional consultants should identify the problem and offer the solutions” Edgar said.
As a chairman of the international consulting company Combo AG Edgar knows the business intimately. In his more than 25 year-long consulting career he has advised his clients on leadership, strategic brand stewardship, and intercultural change. Edgar has authored numerous articles and several publications and is a sought-after lecturer in Europe, Asia, and the U.S.
“I am a top-manager of the company specializing in IT consulting so the course was especially interesting for me. Edgar spared no detail when speaking about how to establish a successful consulting business. My most valuable takeaway was the role of new technologies. Industry leaders already use AI in their innovative products and have already started using Big Data. Because of that, the consulting job is getting more and more demanding both hard skills wiser and soft skills wise. If the AI substitutes consultants eventually is one of the most pending questions. I don’t think it will happen soon. I loved Edgar’s advice to all of us working in consulting: “Take it seriously!”, Nadia Omelchenko, Vice President of the IT-Integrator company and DBA program participant shared her opinion.
