THE NEW MBA CLASS KICKS OFF

07 February 2022

On February 4, the new MBA class kicked off. Iryna Tykhomyrova, MIM-Kyiv president, and Maksym Bakhmatov, founder and CEO of the Transformation Office, well-known entrepreneur and innovator, and MIM-Kyiv MBA2003 welcomed the new program participants.

When I entered MIM-Kyiv, I had had corporate experience. Understanding that I want to be an entrepreneur was probably my main takeaway from MIM-Kyiv. In 2005 I started my business. When you understand the entrepreneurial mindset, you understand whether it suits you. Entrepreneurship is difficult and responsible but you do it “your way”. I have been running my own business for 16 years. I must say it feels different. To run the business you need to manage time and resources. If you can do that properly, you succeed,” Marksym Bakhmatov said. He also mentioned that 80% of knowledge is generated among peers rather than acquire from professors. With more than 7000 alumni MIM-Kyiv community is a powerful resource.

New MBA students shared their expectations. Scaling the business, networking, personal development, mastering management, and entrepreneurial skills, and becoming leaders of companies’ growth is what most students strive to achieve.

Peer presentations and insta-quest helped new students to get to know each other and MIM-Kyiv and present themselves on social media. They also wrote letters to themselves. In two years they will read those letters and have a chance to compare their expectations and reality and assess the progress they make on the way to their goals.
