DEVELOPING HOME TALENT: ASTARTA KYIV SHARES ITS EXPERIENCE
09 May 2023
The managers of Astarta-Kyiv, a leading company in the agricultural sector and a long-term partner of MIM-Kyiv, have been participating in various programs at the school for many years. The company's leaders believe that involvement in open programs better fulfills the company's leadership needs, whether it involves enhancing functional skills or developing future executives.
The war has accelerated the career progression of the team members. Some have been promoted, while others have transitioned to different roles. Svitlana Mozgova, the HR director of the company, expressed in her interview with Forbes-Ukraine, "We are close to achieving our goal of having 80% of our management team developed internally rather than hiring from outside. We believe that our people are our main asset, driving growth with their unique talents. We identify and nurture these talents, motivate them, and aim for their growth and success within our company."
Vadym Skrypnyk, the director of agricultural production and a graduate of MIM-Kyiv's Pre-MBA "Management and Leadership" program, also emphasizes the importance of supporting employees' development. When the war broke out, he took on additional responsibilities of assisting the families of employees who enlisted. Considering the toll the war has taken, developing talents internally has become crucial for the survival of any business. Therefore, Astarta's approach to HR development gives it a competitive edge.
"We operate our diversified business in seven regions. Our assessment system helps us identify and develop talent. The diversity of our business enables us to promote individuals and provide them with better career opportunities. This approach saves us time because our new managers are already familiar with the company, its operations, and its culture. It also offers clear prospects for growth within the company," Mr. Skrypnyk explained.
