03 June 2016
Mr. Pyatnitsky who is known in Ukraine as one of the “Fathers of the Ukraine–European Union Association Agreement” discussed the opportunities and bottlenecks of the Agreement. He presented EU preferences to Ukraine, export duties, e-commerce with EU, etc. On the other hand he mentioned that Ukraine’s external export was shrinking. Students’ questions ranged from relaxation of visa restrictions and potential European bestsellers produced in Ukrainian to the strategic tasks our country is facing. Bad national business environment and ways to fix it was another issue for the discussion. The discussion resulted in clarification of the role of the EU as a trading and political partner.
