24 October 2016
MIM-Kyiv regrets to inform that Dr. Bohdan Hawrylyshyn, an outstanding Ukrainian economist, philanthropist died at 91.
We were lucky to know and work together with Bohdan Dmytrovych who chaired MIM-Kyiv board for long. It was his efforts that brought MIM-Kyiv its first successes and recognition. It was he who planted the idea of business education here, in Ukraine and we are reaping the fruits now. It was he who brought Ukrainian business education to the global world.
He believed that new generation would not only change the country but also make the world a better place. He supported Plast, National Scout Organization of Ukraine, established and ran Bohdan Hawrylyshyn Charitable Foundation, and endorsed young Ukrainian talents.
Bohdan Dmytrovych was a distinguished Ukrainian who contributed a lot to making the world know about Ukraine and its people, and appreciate them. He personally was a member of the Club of Rome, International Academy of Management, Foundation Jean Monnet pour l’Europe, and Forum Suisse de Politique Internationale.
He was wise and witty, sunny and positive, able to see the long-term perspectives and grab today’s opportunities. We will miss you, Bohdane Dmytrovychu! R.I.P.
