On January 12, the MBA 2022 convocation took place. The newly minted MBAs overcome many difficulties to get their degrees. In their first year, they dealt with the COVID pandemic consequences, and in their second year, they faced the challenges of the full-time Russian invasion. Some students joined the military and are now fighting at the frontline. However, the class completed the program with good results.

Resilience is the word of 2022 for me. We have a lot of resilience here ranging from centers of resilience to Christmas trees of resilience. MIM-Kyiv is the Business school of resilience that uses power produced by electricity generators, Starlink’s internet, shelter, and online classes. Your class is a Resilience class. We aim at helping you to become globally competitive. You definitely are. I wish you to succeed globally, Oleksandr Sudarkin, MBA program director said in his welcome address.

For several years Vitaly Haiduk, the Chairman of the MIM-Kyiv supervisory board has granted his personal award for the best master’s thesis. This year the following short listers were nominated:

1 Motivation management. The case of ACINO by Tetiana Klymniuk and supervised by Oleksandr Sudarkin.

2 Marketing strategy for a startup in the food delivery market in the UAE by Pavlo Kozhukhar supervised by Oleksiy Vynogradov.

3 Change management in wartime by Olena Storchak, supervised by Vyacheslav Pokotylo.

Olena Storchak received the award for her thesis. In her acceptance speech, she said, “I am happy to receive this unexpected award. It was a dramatically difficult year. I described this new experience. I am truly grateful to Vyacheslav Pokotylo, my supervisor for his support and assistance.” 

Although the war ruins the plans and prevents planning, it allows us to contemplate a much better future. Iryna Tykhomyrova, MIM-Kyiv president said, “You are studying for the future. Education is an investment in personal development that will generate returns in the future. I wish you a bright future, your personal victories, and our shared Victory.”
