RESILINCE AND PARTNERSHIPS DEVELOPMENT: 22 FACTS ABOUT MIM-KYIV IN 2022

This year was a year of challenges and losses. It was also a year of resilience, strength, and new achievements. Here is the list of MIM-Kyiv accomplishments in wartime of 2022.
1 Joined the movement aimed at stripping Russian business schools of international accreditations. As a result, AACSB, AMBA and BGA, and EFMD made a joint statement about russian schools' membership suspension. Later, CEEMAN joined the actions. BMDA (Baltic Management Development Association) condemned Russian aggression.
2 Eduniversal recognized MIM-Kyiv as the best Ukrainian business school for the seventh time and ranked it among the top 5% of the world’s best business schools. The school was awarded “Four Palmes”.
3 In April, two “Anti-crisis” Pre-MBA programs, “Marketing, Management and Leadership” and “Business and Finance Management” kicked off despite uncertainty and fears.
4 Programs portfolio was upgraded to adjust both Pre-MBA, MBA, and SE MBA programs to the current and future challenges. The programs are a good investment in future economic recovery.
5 MIM-Kyiv community established the platform of support and volunteering “MIM Helps”. Nearly half a thousand people use it every day to offer and receive help and support.
6 In late March, we launched the project aimed at psychological and managerial support “MIM Toolbox”. MIM-Kyiv’s professors with coaching experience have discussed the most important issues since.
7 Soft skills support was complemented by the hard skills project. Within the “MIM.Economic Front” speaking series top managers are sharing their experiences of dealing with problems caused by wartime, solutions that keep their businesses going, and support their teams. The project has its channel in Telegram messenger.
8 We launched English Speaking Club for the MIM-Kyiv community. The participant can discuss the most pending topics and improve their speaking skills.
9 ReInforceUA: MIM Global Knowledge Hub is a high-profile project aimed at the recovery and strengthening of the Ukrainian economy after our victory. Every week leading global intellectuals deliver lectures and answer questions from the audience. Yuval Noah Harari, Philip Kotler, Alex Osterwald, Natalia Jaresko, and Guy Standing just to mention a few were among the speakers.
10 MIM-Kyiv forged a partnership with Thinkers50, the global ranking of management thinkers. Due to this partnership, Ukrainians learn first-hand about the ideas that shape the future.
11 MIM-Kyiv expanded cooperation with the American Project Management Institute (PMI) by applying and accomplishing the first stage of the accreditation of the MBA and Pre-MBA “Business” programs.
12 Case on women’s leadership authored by Natalia Golovkina, academic secretary, and Oksana Kukuruza, International Relations Director was published by Emerald Publishing, a scholarly publisher of academic journals and books in the fields of management, business, education, library studies, healthcare, and engineering.
13 MIM-Kyiv and Kyivstar, a telecom provider launched the education project “Business of the New Times” where you can find lectures of the school’s faculty, videos, articles, etc.
14 Nadia Omelchenko, MIM-Kyiv professor and vice president of IT.Integrator created a successful corporate volunteering case.
15 MIM-Kyiv joined forces with the Pro Bono Club Ukraine for the second wave of МВА 4 НКО project aimed at support of the NGOs. MBA students will advise five organizations selected in a competition.
16 Based on the legal opinion of Volodymyr Pospolitak, chair of Humanities at MIM-Kyiv, the Constitutional Court of Ukraine made a decision concerning the alignment of Article 1050 of the Civil Code of Ukraine with the Constitution of Ukraine.
17 Crafting Business Makers School – CBMS participants accomplished the program after the break caused by the war. The program was implemented together with the Handicraft Chamber of Ukraine.
18 MIM-Kyiv signed Memorandum on Cooperation with the Economic Development Agency of Kyiv Region and participated in two forums in the recovery of business activities in Bucha and Bila Tserkva.
19 Naomi Baum, an expert in trauma and resilience and the author of the ISRESILIENCE: What Israelis Can Teach the World shared her experience on resilience development with the MIM-Kyiv community.
20 MIM-Kyiv partnered with the Raise for Ukraine platform founded by Maksym Kovalenko, co-founder of Zagorye travel company and SE MBA student. It is a secure and reliable vehicle to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine and humanitarian projects.
21 MIM-Kyiv launched the fifth program for the National Bank Management Succession Program.
22 Oleksandr Sudarkin, MBA program director wrote a column for the NV publication where he explained why all russians are responsible for their leader’s actions.
Thus, we can say that the last 12 months made us stronger, more sensitive and attentive to each other, and hopefully wiser. We value people and life more. Nobody can deprive us of dignity, knowledge, experience, and values.
We know nothing about the future year. We wish you optimism and the future that we are creating together. Victorious and peaceful new year!
